Waiting doesn’t make it better!

Friday, August 31st, 2018

When I was younger I would drive my car until the wheels fell off. I would never dream of doing that now, I want to make sure my family is safe and I want time to make the right buying decision and consider all my options. Funny, I still have customers call me when they need a new unit right now.

That’s just bad for everyone.

When you are hot and miserable you aren’t as likely to make a good decision, or have time to consider all your options. It’s not always the price you pay today, but how much that AC unit is going to cost to run for the next 15 years.

Now you have one more reason to do the right thing…Trade in your older, inefficient air conditioner while it is still working and you could make a big difference in your home and in your community.

Right now, when you trade in that old working AC it will be donated to Youth Challenge. This will help them in many ways. Your unit will be sent to the Youth Challenge Thrift Store where it will be reconditioned and then sold to help someone less fortunate, all the proceeds go to help Youth Challenge and you get a nice charitable tax deduction. They take the broken ACs too!

So start saving money today on your energy bills, and save money on your taxes next year…All while helping out a great organization and the community.

Still not convinced, how about 0% interest for 5 years.

Dealing with High Humidity This Summer

Monday, July 17th, 2017

family-with-dogWe would be willing to bet that you have, at some point in your life, heard someone say that it is “not the heat, but the humidity,” making you feel uncomfortable when it is hot outside. Of course, the fact is that very high temperatures are going to be uncomfortable regardless of how humid the air is. That being said, a dry heat can definitely feel a lot more bearable than muggy, humid heat. There are a few reasons for this, but there is only one ideal solution to the problem.

That is the whole-house dehumidifier. You’ve no doubt seen a portable dehumidifier before, and maybe you’ve even run one in your home—likely in the basement. If you are serious about eliminating the discomfort and other issues that can stem from very high humidity, though, we strongly urge you to consider a whole-house system. With professionally installed and serviced whole-house dehumidifier in Virginia Beach, you will really see results.

Problems Caused by Low Humidity

Monday, January 16th, 2017

During the summer, humidity outdoors can be oppressive. Running your air conditioner around the clock can actually dry out the air in your home too much, though. Your heater is not going to dry out the air in your living space the same way that your air conditioner might, but it is important to remember that there is less humidity in the air in the winter season to begin with.

It is for this reason that you may want to use a whole-house humidifier in Portsmouth, VA. Chances are that you’ve come across the small, portable humidifiers available to homeowners at some point. These have their uses, but they are not ideal for raising humidity throughout the house.

Prevent Excessively Dry Air This Winter

Monday, October 17th, 2016

Your heating system may not actively dry out the air in your home the way that an air conditioner can, but dry air is still a very real problem during the winter months. While the air in the summer tends to be humid, and dehumidified somewhat in the cooling process, the air in the winter starts out dry.

That means that you may be heating already dry air and redistributing it throughout your home again and again. That can have a seriously negative effect on your indoor air quality. Fortunately, it is a problem that you can resolve with the use of a professionally installed whole-house humidifier in Norfolk, VA.

Your Air Conditioner Is Not a Dehumidifier

Monday, September 14th, 2015

Forgive us if the title of this blog post seems a bit obvious, but the fact of the matter is that many homeowners expect their whole-house air conditioning systems alone to be sufficient for handling the effective dehumidification of their homes. In truth, dehumidification is only a byproduct of the cooling process, and the dehumidification of the air filling your home is not an intended function that your air conditioner is expected to serve. If you find that your home is frequently too humid for comfort, though, fear not: whole-house dehumidifiers in Newport News, VA are available. Contact a member of the House Call Company team to learn more about how a whole-house dehumidifier can benefit you.

How Too Much, or Too Little, Humidity Hinders Comfort

Monday, June 8th, 2015

When most homeowners think of maintaining a comfortable environment in their homes, they first think of their HVAC systems. This makes sense, of course, as it is this system which allows one to heat his or her home in the winter, and to effectively cool it in the summer.
